COAS General Raheel for consolidating gains for long term stability

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif earlier today said that, “as the large scale kinetic operation in FATA moves towards conclusion, there is a need to look ahead and consolidate the gains for long term stability.”

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif was presiding over a Corps Commanders Conference in the garrison city at General Headquarters.

The forum dwelt at length on internal and external security situation and other professional matters. Participants of the conference also took holistic view of the emerging geo-strategic environment and its relevance to security of Pakistan.

While speaking at the forum, the Army Chief expressed his complete satisfaction over the progress of ongoing operation in Shawal and adjoining areas in North Wazirastan Agency.

“As we move towards conclusion of large scale kinetic operation in FATA, there is a need to look ahead and consolidate the gains for long term stability,” the COAS stressed.

He directed more effective border management and continued proactive dominance of the cleared areas to maintain writ of the state in FATA . He reasserted that TDPs return must be completed as per the laid down time line.

General Raheel Sharif stressed on escalated pace of IBOs across the country to eliminate the entire infrastructure of terrorism in Pakistan.

The COAS paid rich tributes to the sacrifices and valour of officers and men of security agencies in operation Zarb e Azb and vowed that under no circumstances these gains will be compromised.
