Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar visited M.A Jinnah Road  Karachi and reviewed security arrangements for Ashura processions.

The CM and Rangers chief visited various points at the M.A Jinnah Road where main Youm-e-Ashura mourning processions are being taken out from Nishtar Park to Hussainia Iranian.

The two high-ups also visited Command and Control Center that has been established for monitoring through Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

All link roads connecting to city’s main M.A Jinnah Road have been sealed with containers, with snipers deployed on roof tops along procession routes that were checked by Bomb Disposal Unit through sniffer dogs and detectors.

Imposing five-day ban on motorbike pillion-riding in Sindh, the government has deployed thousands of personnel of police and Rangers in Karachi, with army deployment in sensitive areas.
Law enforcing agencies have been put on high alert to deal with any eventuality.

Yaum-e-Ashur (10th Muharram) is being observed today (Wednesday) with due solemnity and sanctity to pay homage to the supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A), his family and companions in Karbala
