Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah unveiled a series of essential infrastructure and energy projects throughout the city to enhance recreational facilities, road networks, and energy sustainability.
During his five-hour tour, accompanied by cabinet members such as Sharjeel Memon and Saeed Ghani, the CM inaugurated several road and solarization projects and a football ground.
He launched three significant road projects in the West and Central districts. The Mirza Adam Road, a 1.6km dual carriageway costing Rs901 million, extends from Sher Shah Chowk to Mirza Adam Khan Road and includes a stormwater drainage system to mitigate flooding.
Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan, a main 6.1km track with an additional 4.35km service road costing Rs3.367 billion, is designed to alleviate traffic congestion in North Nazimabad and North Karachi by providing an alternative route to Shahrah-e-Sher Shah Suri.
The CM also launched solar energy systems at prominent public institutions. A 2.32MW solar power system, costing Rs290 million, was installed at Dow University Hospital, Ojha Campus.
A 614.8KW solar power system, installed at Central Jail Karachi for Rs216 million, now supplies excess energy to the KE Grid. This project is expected to pay for itself within three years.
Additionally, the CM inaugurated the refurbished Shaheen Football Ground and Park in Manzoor Colony, developed with an investment of Rs213 million under the CLICK schemes.
At the football ground’s opening, the CM revealed plans to construct a provincial transmission line to bypass the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) for power evacuation from the Manjhad Solar Park. He also noted that 50 government buildings had been solarized in the first phase, with further expansions planned.
