Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has dismissed Junaid Akbar Khan from his role as the Chief Minister’s focal person for National Assembly members.
CM Gandapur’s decision follows Junaid Akbar’s public support for resigned minister Shakeel Khan, which did not sit well with the current administrative dynamics.
The Chief Minister’s Secretariat issued a formal notification confirming that the Chief Minister had approved the removal of Junaid Akbar, who had previously won the National Assembly seat from NA-9 Malakand and served as Gandapur’s focal person. Following the approval, an official de-notification of his position was carried out.
In place of Junaid Akbar, Shahid Ahmad Khatak, a PTI member representing NA-38 Karak, has been appointed as the new focal person for National Assembly members. This reshuffling indicates a strategic alignment and adaptation within the party’s ranks.
Junaid Akbar publicly expressed his ongoing support for the party and the new appointment despite his removal. Through a statement on the social media platform X, he congratulated Shahid Khatak, praised the decision, and reiterated his commitment to the party, stating, “I commend this decision. I have always stood with the party and will continue to do so with even greater resolve.”
