Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Sajjad Ali Shah, hailed the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Pakistan Army’s role the forces played in the recovery of his son nearly a month after he was kidnapped from Karachi.

While speaking to media persons at his Karachi residence, Sajjad Ali Shah said, “General Raheel Sharif called me at 3 am last night and informed me that my son had recovered hale and hearty. The army chief and DG ISI remained in contact with me throughout the period… I’m thankful to them,”

In a question regarding the role of the Pakistan government in his son’s recovery. “The action was carried out by the army, which is part of the government of Pakistan,”

Regarding a query about the police role in recovery, the dissatisfied Chief Justice said, “it should be asked from them.”

He said DG ISI Major General Rizwan Akhtar had formulated a team that ultimately recovered Awais Shah.

Today, Pakistani security forces rescued Awais Ali Shah during a raid in the Tank area of the country’s restive northwest region bordering Afghanistan.

Awais Ali Shah, a lawyer himself, was abducted last month from the southern Port of Karachi.

“Awais Shah, son of Sindh Chief Justice, recovered through an IBO (intelligence-based operation) from the custody of terrorists from near Tank, three terrorists killed,” Pakistan army spokesman Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa said on Twitter.

Shah was last seen in a CCTV footage on June 21 shopping at a supermarket in Karachi’s Defence Housing Society, an upscale neighborhood.
