CJP, President, others expressed sorrow over sad demise of Asma Jahangir

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, President Mamnoon Hussain, other judges and registrar of the Supreme Court have expressed deep sorrow and grief on the sad demise of Asma Jahangir, Senior Advocate Supreme Court.

President Mamnoon Hussain Sunday expressed grief over the demise of renowned lawyer and legal expert Asma Jahangir.

He said Asma Jahangir played an unforgettable role for rule of law and democratic stability. He also prayed for peace of the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family.

They have extended their heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to members of aggrieved family of the departed soul.

The chief justice and other judges praised her services rendered for cause of independence of judiciary, rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution in the country and said her services would always be remembered in good words in judicial history of Pakistan.

She was an outspoken and courageous lady, and had risen to prominence by sheer dint of hard work, diligence and commitment to the legal profession, they added.

They prayed to Almighty Allah to shower His blessings upon the departed soul and to give patience to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity. (PhotoNews / APP)
