China shattered two world records with an impressive drone display in Shenzhen, deploying 10,197 drones for its National Day celebrations.

This record-setting event occurred on September 26 at Shenzhen Bay Park, earning Guinness World Records for the most drones flying simultaneously and the largest aerial image formed by drones.

The captivating show featured complex patterns and depictions of cultural landmarks, including a “Sky City” segment highlighting Shenzhen’s iconic architecture and rich heritage.

The display honoured local traditions and underscored China’s dominance in drone technology and aerial exhibitions.

The event extends over a week across Shenzhen’s five districts. Over 10,000 drones illuminate the sky each evening, offering fresh visual marvels.

These drone shows, which replace traditional fireworks, utilize eco-friendly lighting, showcasing China’s innovative approach to celebrating with technological flair.

Drone swarm technology allows for coordinating thousands of drones via a single computer, with significant potential for surveillance, defense, and logistics applications.

China’s leadership in drone manufacturing and expertise in choreographed aerial shows solidifies its role as a global leader in technology.

The event also featured “cyber fireworks,” a digital counterpart to conventional fireworks, enhancing Shenzhen’s reputation as a centre of technological innovation.
