Chinese Premier Li Keqiang stated that China is ready to work with Pakistan to finalize a long-term plan to build a bilateral economic corridor by the end of 2025.
In a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference, Li emphasized that both countries have agreed to focus their practical cooperation on building this corridor. This joint effort aims to deepen the China-Pakistan “community of shared destiny,” according to Xinhua news agency.
The corridor, part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), is a major infrastructure and trade project. It aims to improve transport links, energy supply, and industrial development between the two countries. This collaboration is seen as crucial for enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.
The pact reflects long-standing cooperation between China and Pakistan. Both sides are committed to accelerating the project’s progress while ensuring mutual benefits. The finalization of the plan by year-end will pave the way for more focused investment and development activities.
