On March 15, 2025, the second Hangor-class submarine, PNS/M SHUSHUK (Desig), was launched at Wuchang Shipbuilding in Wuhan, China.
Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, led the ceremony and highlighted the submarine’s role in Pakistan’s maritime security.
Vice Admiral Bilgrami stressed maritime security’s importance in today’s geo-strategic landscape. “The Hangor-class submarine bolsters regional power balance,” he said, praising its advanced weaponry and sensors. He thanked China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Company Ltd (CSOC) for deepening Pakistan-China ties.

Pakistan-China Collaboration
