Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa clarified that an audio clip, allegedly featuring conversations between PTI founder Imran Khan and judges, was not leaked from the Supreme Court.
Upon CJP’s inquiry, the IT staff of the Supreme Court indicated that some voices in the audio did not originate from the court and were not linked to a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendment case hearing circulated widely on social media.
Justice Athar Minallah commented on the matter, questioning the concern over the leak since the discussions occurred during an open court session.
Previously, an image of Imran Khan in Courtroom No 1, participating via video link from Adiala Jail, was leaked during the first hearing of the same NAB case, gaining rapid attention online.
In a separate event, Justice Isa officiated the swearing-in of the new Press Association of Supreme Court (PAS) cabinet members. The ceremony, held at the Supreme Court’s Judges Block, was attended by Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan and Justices Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Athar Minallah, and Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
The new PAS cabinet includes President Mian Aqeel Afzal, Vice President Ghulam Nabi Yousafzai, and Finance Secretary Raja Basharat.
Post-ceremony, Justice Isa engaged in a light-hearted dialogue with the PAS members. He reminisced about his writing days and his mother, Saeeda Qazi Isa, who also penned articles. He shared his experience with rigorous research for writing in the past, contrasting it with the ease of modern communication.
