On August 5, 2025, the British High Commission in Islamabad announced that applications for the Chevening Scholarships are now open for Pakistani students.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott emphasised the transformative impact of the program, stating, “Chevening offers more than just a world-class education; it provides personal growth, global networking, and the confidence to lead with purpose.” Applications will be accepted from August 5 to October 7, 2025, through the website https://chevening.org/apply.
Chevening is the UK Government’s global scholarship program aimed at mid-career professionals who have at least two years of work experience after graduation. The program funds master’s degrees at top UK universities and covers tuition fees, flights, visas, and provides a monthly allowance for living expenses. Scholars benefit from opportunities for professional development, networking, and cultural immersion during their year in the UK, helping to establish lasting connections with the country.
Applicants are required to showcase their leadership skills, influential capabilities, and networking abilities through real-world examples. The program, founded in 1983, boasts a global alumni network of over 60,000 individuals, including more than 2,000 from Pakistan, who have made significant contributions across various fields. Pakistani candidates are encouraged to apply early and to prepare compelling applications that highlight their potential to drive positive change.
The Chevening Scholarship empowers Pakistan’s future leaders, enhancing their global exposure and career prospects. It strengthens UK-Pakistan educational ties and fosters impactful community contributions.
