Chery Master Pakistan has rolled out its first Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV Pakistan CKD unit, marking a major production milestone as the company moves toward customer deliveries ahead of schedule. The company says the achievement reflects one of the fastest transitions from brand entry to local production in Pakistan.
Backed by Master Group’s manufacturing base, the rollout signals the start of Volume Production. CKD units are now undergoing road testing and evaluation by Chery’s global technical teams, including validation across a 1.5-kilometre track with more than 20 test patterns.
Chery China’s technical team, including chief technician Wang Xueyong, oversaw the first unit as the production line began operating. The team’s presence helped maintain global engineering standards, precision, and quality from the very start of production.
The Tiggo 8 PHEV targets Pakistan’s premium D-segment as the country’s only seven-seater plug-in hybrid SUV. Priced at Rs11,299,000, it offers a higher-value alternative in a market where many hybrid options are smaller five-seater models.
The SUV uses Chery Super Hybrid technology, combining a 1.5 TGDI engine with a dual-motor setup. A combined output of 496 horsepower and 735 Nm of torque, along with AWD capability.
It also claims up to 90 kilometres of electric range and a combined range of 1,200 kilometres. The company says this setup supports both daily electric driving and long-distance travel. In a fuel-import-dependent market like Pakistan, the vehicle presents as a practical, efficiency-focused option.
Inside, the vehicle offers a three-row cabin and a 15.6-inch infotainment system. It also includes a 12-speaker Sony audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, and a zero-gravity passenger seat with massage functions. Safety features include 10 airbags, ADAS, and five-star global ratings.
Master Auto Engineering CEO Samir Malik said the company achieved production-readiness with world-class quality in a short time. He also described the early delivery timeline as a sign of strong execution. Marketing and sales director Syed Asif Ahmed said the company expects to meet most demand within June. He added that bookings for the Tiggo 7 PHEV will open in April 2026, with the Tiggo 9 PHEV set to follow.
Chery Master Pakistan currently operates 10 nationwide 3S facilities and plans to expand that network to 20 by 2027. The company says this rollout is part of a broader push into multiple powertrains, including ICE, hybrid, BEV, and plug-in hybrid systems.
