At the closing ceremony of the Independence Day Sports Gala, organized by the District Sports Office of Charsadda, athletes voiced their protest against what they perceived as mismanagement and inadequate arrangements by the district sports administration.

The athletes expressed discontent by dramatically breaking a trophy before the District Sports Officer and calling on senior officials to address their grievances. Their frustration stemmed from being forced to wait in intense heat for high-ranking officials to arrive and distribute the trophies. The situation escalated when one athlete, upon receiving his trophy, threw it to the ground in protest and broke it.

The athlete expressed frustration by saying, “Thank you to the DSO for humiliating us in this extreme heat at 2 PM.” This incident was captured on video and quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread criticism of the event organizers and support for the athletes’ actions.

A user on social media highlighted the impact of the incident, commenting, “After this incident, no one will dare to arrive late for any event,” underlining the strong message sent by the athletes’ protest.
