Charles Goodman, a Senior Foreign Service member, brings a wealth of expertise. He served as Management Counsellor for the US Mission to New Zealand and Samoa. He was a Management Counsellor and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission in Pristina, Kosovo. He led logistics in the Executive Office of the US Secretary of State. He was Deputy Director of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs in Lima, Peru.

Additionally, Goodman held posts in Latvia, Georgia, Argentina, and Lahore, Pakistan (2011–2012). Before joining the Foreign Service in 2006, he spent 20 years in financial services, real estate, and technology, holding leadership roles. He earned an MBA from Duke University and a BS in Information Systems from the University of Tampa.
The US mission stated, “Goodman is dedicated to advancing US priorities for a safer, stronger America while strengthening the US-Pakistan relationship.” He looks forward to engaging with local communities and experiencing Pakistan’s hospitality and cuisine.
Goodman’s appointment comes at a critical time. The US and Pakistan collaborate on trade, counterterrorism, and education, with bilateral trade reaching $6.5 billion in 2024, per the US Embassy. His prior experience in Lahore equips him to navigate local dynamics, fostering stronger ties in Karachi, a key economic hub.
