The Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Chaman reopened after a horrific incident.
Chaman border was closed last Sunday after Afghan terrorists killed a Frontier Corps soldier and wounded two more.
After reopening the border, Pakistani and Afghani soldiers clasped hands. Both nations’ civil and military border forces have agreed to reopen the Chaman border.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire on Pakistani security forces from Afghanistan on November 13, killing one FC soldier and wounding two more. Hundreds of goods-carrying trucks were stalled on both sides of the border.
The border was reopened today following many flag consultations. In the current emergency flag meeting, they resolved to prevent subversion and deploy unarmed men.
The Afghan delegation denounced the shooting and pledged to apprehend and punish those responsible.
Pakistan sent a 10-member delegation.
Customs and immigration have resumed, authorities said. The Friendship Gate now allows the export of fresh Pakistani dried fruits to Central Asia and the purchase of Afghan tomatoes and onions.
Authorities say both sides of the border have heightened security.
