Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that the government was fully committed to resolve the challenges confronting the country through consultations while meeting a 10-member delegation of Pakistan Ulema Council led by its chairman Allama Tahir Ashrafi on Thursday.

“We believe in resolving the issues through consultation as consultative process proves helpful in handling complex situations,” the Prime Minister said in the meeting.

Sharif stressed that ulema (religious leaders) should play their role in promoting Pakistan’s positive image in the global community and pointed out that extremism could be eradicated from the society by following the true spirit of Islam.

Nawaz Sharif assured the government’s all out support to the ulema in playing their role to advance the cause of peace and harmony in the country.
