Thousands will gather at the Vatican to honour Carlo Acutis. The 15-year-old Italian, known as “God’s Influencer,” will be declared a saint by Pope Leo XIV.
The special Mass starts at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Square. Over 800 pilgrims from Assisi will arrive by train to attend. Acutis died of leukaemia in 2006. He lies in a glass tomb in Assisi, dressed in jeans and Nike sneakers. His mother said, “Carlo shows everyone can be a saint.”
Born in London in 1991, Acutis grew up in Milan. He attended Mass daily, helped bullied children, and provided food to the homeless. He loved computer games and taught himself to code in order to share Catholic miracles online.

The bishop of Assisi praised him, saying, “Carlo’s life inspires young people to avoid bad role models.”
The Vatican recognised two miracles by Acutis. One healed a Brazilian child with a rare illness. The other helped a Costa Rican student recover from an accident. These led to his beatification in 2020 and canonisation in 2025.
Acutis ‘sainthood honours a modern teen who used technology for faith. The Vatican ceremony shines a light on his inspiring legacy worldwide.
