Rapper Cardi B has issued a forceful public response after a viral post falsely accused her father of a serious crime, describing the allegation as fabricated and defamatory.
The controversy erupted Sunday when an X account shared a post claiming Cardi B’s father, Carlos Almanzar, faced conviction for attempted rape in the early 1990s. The post included a screenshot purportedly from the platform’s AI assistant, Grok. This spread rapidly across social media and sparked backlash.
On Monday, Cardi B rejected the claim outright. She stated that her father has never been arrested for such an offence and emphasized its complete falsity.
She noted that her father, a Dominican Republic immigrant, would have faced deportation for any such conviction. Additionally, she urged users to halt misinformation and warned against further family attacks.

Cardi B described the episode as deliberate slander, expressing frustration over reckless false claims used for online attention.
As scrutiny intensified, other users questioned Grok, which denied making the claim. It confirmed the screenshot’s inauthenticity. Also, Grok stated that no public record supports the accusation, advising reliance on certified court records alone.
