Cara Delevingne lost her Los Angeles home to a massive fire while she was in London. The inferno, which required the efforts of 94 firefighters to extinguish, collapsed the house’s roof.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) is investigating the cause of the blaze, which took more than two hours to control.
Delevingne, currently starring as Sally Bowles in “Cabaret” at the Playhouse Theatre in London, expressed her sorrow over the incident on Instagram, especially fearing for her cats’ safety.
Initially believing them to be lost in the fire, she later shared relief and gratitude upon their rescue, posting, “They are alive!! Thank you to the firefighters,” along with a video showing the emergency response.
The LAFD confirmed that all occupants were safely evacuated and that firefighters had to adopt a defensive strategy due to the extensive damage and risk of collapse. This incident struck a chord with Delevingne, who, in 2021, showcased the distinctive and whimsically themed house in a feature by Architectural Digest, describing it as her “adult playhouse” with various rooms inspired by different themes, including a Mad Hatter’s tea party, a jungle theme, and the Beverly Hills hotel style, among others.
