Due to the monsoon season, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has scheduled daily closures at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore from July 10 to September 10; both runways will close from 5:00 to 8:00 a.m.

T0 enhances flight and passenger safety amid heightened bird threats during the monsoon. Allama Iqbal International Airport will remain closed during the closure hours. The CAA has notified all affected domestic and international airlines through a NOTAM, assuring that emergency landing facilities will remain operational for urgent scenarios.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) recently reviewed the country’s advancements in implementing the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan. The report’s findings indicate an increase in the incidence of bird strikes, with 61 aircraft from various airlines affected last year.

Further data from Pakistan International Airline (PIA) spokesperson revealed that the national carrier faced considerable financial losses from 39 bird strike incidents at domestic airports in the past six months.
