Bushra Bibi, wife of the incarcerated founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, will miss the anticipated “do-or-die” protest set for today due to illness, stated her spokesperson Mashal Yousafzai on Saturday.
This announcement emerged before the former ruling party’s significant anti-government demonstration in Islamabad.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reiterated during his appearance on the program “Naya Pakistan” that the former first lady would be absent from the PTI rally owing to health concerns.
Recently, Bushra faced significant backlash from government officials after her video message that implicated Saudi Arabia in Khan’s removal as premier.
In the video posted on PTI’s official X handle, she claimed Saudi officials were displeased with Khan’s “barefooted” visit to Madina. She encouraged PTI supporters to participate in the November 24 protest in Islamabad.
Contrarily, Imran dismissed the government’s portrayal, affirming his “excellent relations” with Saudi Arabia.
Sources close to the ex-ruling party disclosed to Geo News that since November 1, Bushra had been actively engaging in political activities and had met with PTI leaders to discuss the upcoming demonstration.
They also mentioned that following her controversial statement, which came at a pivotal moment, the PTI founder advised Bushra to distance herself from political engagements as his party intensified efforts to secure his release.
After her contentious remarks, Bushra faced legal challenges; she was charged under the Telegraph Act of 1885 in Dera Ghazi Khan and other cities for allegedly inciting hatred through her video statement.
Police confirmed that legal actions were proceeding under Section 126 of the Telegraph Act and other applicable laws.
Furthermore, a potential case under cybercrime laws is being considered and is expected to be addressed by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Wing shortly.
