On Tuesday, an accountability court in Islamabad provided pre-arrest bail to Bushra Bibi, spouse of ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, effective until September 12.
Accompanied by her attorneys, Latif Khosa and Intizar Hussain Panjutha, Bushra Bibi presented herself to the court. A surety bond of Rs500,000 ensured her bail approval.
In the absence of Judge Muhammad Bashir, Duty Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain delivered the decision.
Bushra Bibi faces allegations in several corruption cases, notably the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir University Trust instances.
Simultaneously, the Islamabad High Court directed the confinement of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan in a judicial lockup, overturning his three-year sentence from a district court related to the Toshakhana case.
He is scheduled to appear before a specialized court on Wednesday, established for cases related to the Official Secrets Act (Amendment) 2023, concerning the cipher case.
