Millions of exuberant supporters welcomed Argentina’s World Cup winners, headed by Lionel Messi, home on Tuesday.
As seen in the videos shared on social media, most were disappointed when an open-top bus parade had to be abandoned due to enormous crowds in favor of a hastily organized helicopter tour.
Huge crowds of enthusiastic fans cheered for their heroes throughout every meter of the 30-kilometer parade route from a Buenos Aires suburb to the city.
The bus crawled for over five hours as the crowd celebrated the team’s World Cup final triumph against France before a helicopter was called for.
