British health journalist and TV personality Michael Mosley was found dead on the Greek island of Symi on Sunday, several days after he was reported missing, according to police statements.
The cause of his death has not yet been determined.
“A body was spotted near the rocky coast by individuals on a boat,” reported Petros Vassilakis, the police chief for the southern Aegean region.
ERT, Greece’s public television channel, reported that their crew while filming in the area, discovered the body where Mosley, 67, had last been seen. He had gone for a solo coastal walk in the heat on Wednesday.
Clare Bailey, Mosley’s wife, confirmed his death, expressing her sorrow over the loss of her “wonderful, funny, kind, and brilliant husband.” She detailed that he had taken a challenging climb, chosen the wrong path, and collapsed in a location difficult for search teams to see. Mosley had been vacationing on the island with his wife.
Before turning to journalism and television, Mosley worked as an investment banker and later trained as a medical doctor. He became well-known as a presenter, documentary filmmaker, journalist, and author.
