Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the bloc’s commitment to promoting a democratic and multipolar world order. The Kremlin reported that the Kazan Declaration, endorsed at the summit, sets a forward-looking agenda.
During his press conference on the final day of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Putin remarked, “It is crucial that the declaration reiterates our commitment to fostering an inclusive and multipolar world order, anchored in international law and the UN Charter.”
Further, Putin highlighted that the Xinhua news agency noted that BRICS welcomes any nation that aligns with its values and focuses on collaboration without external influence or limited perspectives.
Putin clarified that BRICS operates openly, not in isolation, and confirmed that the leaders have finalized a list of BRICS partner countries.
“Some nations involved have expressed their desire for full membership in the BRICS association,” he added.
Regarding financial communications, Putin stated that while BRICS is not creating an alternative to SWIFT, diversifying transaction methods remains a priority. Steps are being taken toward using national currencies. He noted that BRICS countries are utilizing the Financial Messaging System developed by the Russian Central Bank.
The misplaced paragraph about Heath seems to be in error and does not belong in this context about the BRICS summit.
