Pakistani-British boxer Amir Khan and martial arts champion Shahzaib Rind were honoured to meet with Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at the military’s General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
As reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir lauded the exceptional accomplishments of both athletes in their respective sports during the meeting. The ISPR statement highlighted the Army Chief’s praise for their contributions and dedication to their disciplines.
Furthermore, General Munir expressed his admiration for the potential of Pakistan’s youth, underscoring his belief in the capabilities and promise of the upcoming generations.
Notably, Shahzaib Rind recently achieved a remarkable victory against Rana Singh at the ‘Karate Combat’ event in Dubai on April 21. Despite Singh’s formidable track record, Rind’s preparation, including training stints in the US, paid off, leading to his instant win.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan congratulated Shahzaib Rind and expressed a keen interest in mixed martial arts (MMA). Khan revealed that he had watched several of Rind’s fights, demonstrating his active engagement with the sport.
