The International Cricket Council (ICC) said Pakistan ace off-spinner Saeed Ajmal’s test will be conducted using the same testing protocol that was earlier followed for testing Sri Lanka’s Sachithra Senanayake and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.
In a press release, an ICC spokesman said: “Ajmal will be tested on Monday at the Cricket Australia National Cricket Centre in Brisbane.
He said the accredited and lead team of Human Movement Specialists would conduct Ajmal’s test. The ICC personnel, which will use Cricket Australia facilities, will manage this process.
He said the testing date and location were agreed upon in consultation with the Pakistan Cricket Board. Brisbane is one of several world-class facilities that ICC-accredited Human Movement Specialists can now use for testing bowlers with suspect actions.
He said that to make testing more accessible across cricketing countries; the ICC is currently accrediting Human Movement Specialists at these facilities to test bowlers using the ICC testing protocol.
The results of the tests on Saeed Ajmal’s action will be known in about two weeks, after which the ICC will announce the findings via a media release. He said that until such time, the ICC will not comment on this matter. (APP)
