One month after the APS School Massacre that killed more then 134 innocent children, Overload released a song as a tribute to the lost children. The song, which was released on January 15, pays homage to all those children who lost their lives last year. “In 2014, we lost a chunk of our future. This is for our parents, our children, for Peshawar, Tharparkar, Balochistan, and for all that we are silently enduring. This is Bolo Na,” said a statement on the official Overload Facebook page.
In a video posted on the page, the band’s frontman Farhad Humayun said, “This song (Bolo Na) and Nimmi Nimmi had been recorded by us almost three to four years ago. We were looking for the right time to release these songs as we wanted them to have the impact we had hoped for.”
He added, “This was not the time to make dance music,” stating that, as artistes, “it is their responsibility to speak about the issues being faced by them and the society at large.”
