Bilawal condemns the war in Iran, calling it unlawful and warning that escalating tensions in the Middle East could engulf the wider world.
Speaking at a gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh marking the 47th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation.
He described reported attacks, including strikes affecting civilians, as tragic and said the consequences of the conflict were already being felt globally, including in Pakistan. Bilawal stressed that war does not resolve disputes and instead causes the greatest harm to civilians.
He said Pakistan, along with other countries, is supporting efforts to achieve a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and restore stability in the region.

“We pray for all those forces… working to achieve a ceasefire,” he said, reiterating the importance of diplomatic solutions.
Referring to Pakistan’s defence capabilities, Bilawal said the country’s nuclear strength acts as a deterrent against external threats. He added that despite regional tensions involving Iran, Lebanon, and Syria, Pakistan remains secure.
Bilawal also emphasised national unity, stating that his party would continue to promote cohesion during challenging times. On domestic issues, Bilawal highlighted the need for cooperation between federal and provincial governments to address economic challenges intensified by global tensions.
He said both levels of government had worked together to deliver relief to the public and urged political stakeholders to prioritise national interest. The PPP chairman announced that the Sindh government is preparing a fuel subsidy plan for private transport operators to prevent fare increases.
This follows earlier relief measures, including a Rs2,000 subsidy for registered motorcyclists and financial support for transport vehicles such as buses and trucks.
The initiative aims to ease the burden of rising fuel prices on citizens and the transport sector.
