Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the Sindh government to focus more on public issues rather than on political rival Imran Khan. He emphasized that the people’s needs should be the priority.
During a PPP parliamentary party meeting in Sindh, Bilawal expressed concern that political rivalries detract from effective governance. He underscored the importance of addressing real problems rather than engaging in mudslinging.
“People in Pakistan want solutions, not the politics of hatred. We should focus on solving these issues, not monitoring Imran Khan’s activities, which are irrelevant to their daily struggles,” he stated.
Bilawal stressed the importance of upholding democratic values and being proactive. “We need to concentrate on our responsibilities and deliver tangible results,” he asserted.
He acknowledged the economic challenges Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah communicated, including uncertainties about federal support for projects. “I am confident that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address these issues promptly,” he assured.
Highlighting the necessity for improved governance despite financial constraints, Bilawal encouraged ministers to intensify their efforts. “Our ministers should work hard and be more visible, moving away from routine bureaucratic reshuffles to appointing skilled individuals to enhance performance,” he insisted.
Bilawal also touched on internal party issues, noting that these should not hinder governmental efficiency. “I avoided these topics during elections, but now they must not affect our work,” he mentioned.
Bilawal praised the Sindh police’s efforts against terrorism and linked regional security issues to the crime rate. He instructed the chief minister to evaluate cabinet performance biannually.
“Like a school assessment, we will review performance reports. I expect updates from the chief minister on all ministers’ activities. Ministers should be approachable, with designated times for public interaction,” he directed.
