Outgoing US President Joe Biden will give his final national address on Wednesday at 8 p.m. (ET) from the Oval Office.
The Washington Post reports that President-elect Donald Trump is gearing up for his inauguration on January 20 at the Capitol.
Just a day earlier, Biden discussed his choice to exit the presidential race, a decision he made to unite the Democratic Party, confident though he was in his potential for a victory. “Even though I thought I could win again, I stepped aside to unify the party,” Biden said, adding that he believed Vice President Kamala Harris had a strong chance of winning.

Trump, the Republican candidate, achieved a significant political comeback by winning the election and securing his position as the 47th president of the US, four years after his previous term. At a Florida rally, Trump celebrated his 2024 election victory, acknowledging the robust mandate from the voters. “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honour of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president,” Trump stated, referencing his previous refusal to accept the 2020 election results, which sparked major political disruption and led to legal repercussions.
