More than 100,000 people marched from Berlin’s City Hall to Grosser Stern to protest Germany’s support for Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The rally, organised by a coalition of 50 groups including pro-Palestinian organisations, Medico International, Amnesty International, and the Left Party, was titled “All Eyes on Gaza Stop the Genocide” and called for an end to German complicity in the situation.
Protesters are calling for an immediate cessation of all military cooperation with Israel, including the halt of arms exports. They demand unrestricted access to humanitarian aid in Gaza and urge the European Union to impose sanctions against Israel.

The coalition condemned Israel’s actions, which experts have labelled as genocide and are currently under investigation by the International Court of Justice. They expressed criticism towards the German government for denying the existence of systematic violence while continuing to provide arms support amidst the crisis in Gaza, where over 40,000 people have died (UN, 2025).

A YouGov poll on September 23 showed 62% of German voters view Israel’s actions as genocide, including 60% of CDU/CSU and 71% of SPD voters. This pressures Chancellor Merz’s government, which has called Israel’s force “disproportionate” but avoids the term genocide or recognising Palestine, unlike France and the UK.
