The Bannu Cantonment attack kicked off when terrorists slammed two explosives-laden vehicles into the perimeter wall, aiming to breach the high-security zone. “Khwarij elements tried a cowardly strike, but our vigilant troops foiled their plot with precision,” ISPR stated. The forces engaged swiftly, wiping out all 16 assailants, including four suicide bombers, in a blazing firefight.

Five soldiers—“valiant and resolute”—fell martyr during the intense battle, ISPR noted. The suicide blasts partially toppled the wall, wrecking nearby buildings, including a mosque and civilian homes. This collateral damage killed 13 innocent civilians and injured 32 others, adding tragedy to the chaos.
The Bannu Cantonment attack showcases Pakistan’s iron resolve against terror, despite steep losses.
