Bangladesh vs Pakistan 1st ODI ended in a dominant eight-wicket win for the hosts at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. Bangladesh chased 115 in just 15.1 overs after bowling Pakistan out for 114, with Tanzid Hasan finishing unbeaten on 67 and Nahid Rana tearing through the visitors with 5 for 24.
Pakistan began with some promise, but their innings quickly fell apart after the first wicket. Sahibzada Farhan made 27, while Faheem Ashraf top-scored with 37, yet the rest of the batting order struggled badly as wickets kept falling in clusters.
Nahid Rana led the collapse with a brilliant spell that included the wickets of Farhan, Shamyl Hussain, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha. Mehidy Hasan Miraz added three wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed took one each to complete the job.
Bangladesh vs Pakistan 1st ODI Turns One-Sided in Dhaka
Bangladesh made the chase look simple from the start. After Saif Hassan fell for four, Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto put together the decisive stand that pushed the game out of Pakistan’s reach. Shanto made 27, and Tanzid stayed unbeaten on 67 off 42 balls with seven fours and five sixes.
Pakistan managed only two wickets in the chase, through Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. However, the target was too small to create real pressure, and Bangladesh wrapped up victory with 34.5 overs to spare to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
The result underlined Bangladesh’s dominance with both bat and ball. Nahid’s maiden ODI five-for broke Pakistan’s batting, and Tanzid’s aggressive half-century ensured the hosts completed the chase with ease.
