Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, said on Friday that the long-standing issue of missing persons in the province has been resolved permanently.
The chief minister made the statement on X after chairing a provincial cabinet meeting. He said the issue had often been used for political gain, with repeated accusations levelled against the state.
Bugti stated that, for the first time, a clear legal framework now governs the handling of suspects. He added that law enforcement agencies will investigate individuals strictly in accordance with the law, removing grounds for allegations against the state.

According to an official statement from the Balochistan government, authorities will question suspects at designated interrogation centres under the supervision of authorised police officers. The spokesperson confirmed that family members will also be allowed to meet detainees during the process.
Cabinet approves administrative reforms
During the same meeting, the provincial cabinet approved the creation of two new divisions, Pishin and Koh-e-Suleiman, to improve administrative efficiency. Under the new arrangement, Ziarat will fall under the Loralai division administratively.
The cabinet also approved the establishment of the Municipal Committee Karbala in Pishin district and finalised an evaluation policy for law officers across the province.

In a move aimed at child protection, the cabinet decided that no child under the age of 16 will be subjected to forced labour.
The meeting also approved a policy to verify the educational credentials of contract teachers. The chief minister assigned the inspection team to oversee degree verification. He directed authorities to register FIRs against fake degree holders, with the process starting in Nasirabad and Dera Bugti.
The provincial government said these measures aim to strengthen governance, improve accountability, and restore public trust in state institutions.
