The government of Balochistan announced office timings for Balochistan on Thursday during the Holy month of Ramadan.
The notification specifies that government offices in Quetta will operate from 9 AM to 3 PM during Ramadan, enabling staff to finish their tasks by early afternoon. On Fridays, the workday will shorten, with offices closing at 1 PM.
Offices that remain open six days a week will adjust to Ramadan schedules, operating from 9 AM to 2 PM on weekdays. Fridays will observe an even earlier closure at noon, facilitating employees’ participation in religious observances and preparations for the holy month.
Preparations for Ramadan’s arrival are underway across Pakistan, with the expected onset of the holy month projected for Wednesday, March 13.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on March 11, under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, alongside scholars and members from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, to confirm the start of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak. The Ministry of Science and Technology will provide technical expertise during this determination.
Meteorological predictions indicate a low likelihood of the moon sighting on March 11 in Pakistan, suggesting Ramadan may commence on March 13.
Elsewhere, notably in Gulf countries, the first day of Ramadan is anticipated to fall on March 12, reflecting the global Muslim community’s readiness to embrace this fasting, reflection, and prayer period.
