Babar Azam returns to lead Pakistan at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, aiming for victory on his third attempt as captain. The tournament kicked off on June 1 in the USA and the Caribbean.
Pakistan’s first game in this year’s competition is scheduled for today at 8:30 PM against the USA at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas.
The team will face India on June 9, followed by a match against Canada at the same venue on June 11. Their final group-stage game will be against Ireland on June 16 in Florida.
Should Azam’s team progress to the Super-Eight stage, they will compete in three additional matches in Antigua and Barbados from June 19 to 23. Azam reflected on Pakistan’s 2009 victory under Younis Khan, noting it as a significant inspiration for his career.
The current squad includes Babar Azam as captain, alongside team members Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Usman Khan.
