In the latest release of the ICC Test Batsmen Rankings, Pakistan’s Babar Azam ascends to the fourth spot following the one-off Test between England and Ireland.
Despite a worthy performance from England’s Joe Root, scoring 56 runs in the only innings he played in the recent Test, his rating points experienced a mild decline. Dropping from 871 to 861, Root slipped to the fifth position in the rankings. Conversely, Babar Azam successfully outperformed Root with a rating of 862, securing the fourth rank in the ICC Test batsmen listings.
Ollie Pope’s double century celebration saw him leap ten spots to the 23rd position (637), while Ben Duckett’s century moved him up eight places to the 34th spot, achieving a rating of 602.
