Pakistani Cricketer Azhar Ali announced his retirement from international test cricket. However, he will play his farewell Test for Pakistan against England in Karachi.
“Everything has its time.” Tomorrow will be my last Test, and it’s an honor to represent Pakistan, said Azhar.
The former captain thanked numerous people for the “arduous yet lovely voyage.”
I’d be nowhere without my family’s sacrifices. Azhar’s family has been his strength.
The batsman stated he has a “deep bond” with some of the best cricketers.
“Being their buddy makes me richer. The batter was also fortunate to have had great coaches.
The captain says he’s retiring “as a fulfilled cricketer who checked most of his ambitions.”
“I’m proud to have led Pakistan, as not many cricketers do. From a leg-spinner to a Test batting mainstay, I enjoyed the loveliest experiences of my life, said Azhar.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja called Azhar “one of Pakistan cricket’s most faithful employees.”
“While it’s tragic that Pakistan won’t have his experience, it’s the circle of life.” Raja hopes Azhar will continue to help grow Pakistani cricket and share his wisdom with young players.
