Lando Norris from McLaren emerged victorious at Sunday’s thrilling Australian Grand Prix. Rain and three safety car periods transformed the season opener at Albert Park into an exciting event. Norris narrowly defeated Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by just 0.895 seconds. The wet conditions posed a challenge for every driver on the grid.
Norris faced early pressure from pole position from his teammate Oscar Piastri, who set impressive lap times. However, on lap 44, Piastri spun out due to the worsening rain, dropping him down the order. Despite this setback, he fought back and finished in ninth place, passing Lewis Hamilton on the final lap. Meanwhile, Verstappen took advantage of the chaos and a late safety car to challenge Norris. Nevertheless, Norris remained resolute and secured the victory.

Williams’ Alex Albon earned his best finish since 2020 in fourth. Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll also shone, rising from 13th to sixth.

Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari debut disappointed. The seven-time champion finished 10th and grumbled about constant radio chatter from his crew. Ferrari, with 11 past Melbourne wins, faltered overall. Charles Leclerc managed only eighth. The team now eyes a rebound at the Chinese Grand Prix.
