An attempt to attack the convoy of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been foiled.
The incident took place when a suspicious vehicle suddenly joined the convoy of the prime minister in Malpur near Islamabad, however, the security personnel intercepted the vehicle and took the driver into their custody.
Sharif, who was traveling with his family members from Murree to Islamabad, has safely reached the Prime Minister House.

Sources said, the suspect, who is in his 60s, introduced himself as a former Air Commodore Hafeez Ur Rehman of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
The sources further said that no suspicious item was found from the vehicle.A bomb disposal squad has also been engaged to check if the car was carrying any explosives.
PM Nawaz’s wife Kulsoom and daughter Maryam were also in the convoy. The PM along with his family have reached their house safe and sound.
