Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday granted exemption to former President Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf from today’s court appearance and summoned him on November 3 in judges’ detention case.
ATC judge Atiq-ur-Rrehman resumed hearing of the case pertaining to detention of Supreme Court judges during 2007 emergency imposed by Musharraf, wherein his counsel presented an application seeking exemption for his client from today’s court appearance.
He also submitted a report of the former president Medical Board examined by Agha Khan Hospital Doctors which recommends’ the complete bed rest to his client for four weeks.
Prosecutor, Amir Nadeem Tabish raised objections argued that the court should take action against his guarantors if he would not appear in the next date of hearing.
To this, counsel for Musharraf informed the Judge that his client is expected to reach Islamabad on November one and a letter has also been written to the Inspector General Police for making security arrangements.
Further hearing of the case was adjourned till November 3.
