Karachi: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday adjourned the hearing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Aamir Khan’s case till August 25.
The accused appeared in person before the court and requested the judge to grant him exemption from appearing before the court as he wanted to perform Hajj. The court directed him to submit a written application and adjourned the hearing till August 25.
Aamir Khan was detained from MQM’s Nine-Zero headquarters on March 11 on the charges of extortion, target killing and providing shelter to terrorists and criminals. He is currently on bail after being in Rangers custody for three months.
Talking to newsmen after the hearing, the MQM leader said that operation should be conducted against those who were indulging in criminal activities, whereas a sense of insecurity was being spread among the Muhajir community as a result of such raids.
