On August 3, 2025, Pakistan’s e-sports star Arslan Siddique, known as Arslan Ash, won his sixth Evolution Championship Series (EVO) title at EVO 2025 in Las Vegas.

Representing Twisted Minds, Ash defeated fellow Pakistani player Atif Butt in the Grand Final of Tekken 8, solidifying his status as a global e-sports icon. Hailing from Lahore, Ash began playing Tekken at the age of eight in local gaming arcades and has since risen to dominate international competitions.

In a post-match interview, Ash discussed the challenge of facing Butt, saying, “We play against each other every day and know each other’s weaknesses. It’s a 50/50 situation.” Although he prefers not to compete against Butt, whom he considers “one of the best players in the world,” Ash initially stuck with his character, Anna. When Anna didn’t perform well, he switched to Nina, explaining, “I know how to handle difficult situations better with Nina.” His adaptability and strategic shift ultimately secured him the victory.

Greatness on another level.

Ash’s sixth EVO title emphasises Pakistan’s rising prominence in the global e-sports arena, with both finalists representing the country. The fierce rivalry and mutual respect between Ash and Butt showcase the competitive depth of Pakistan’s gaming community. This victory has sparked widespread celebrations, enhancing Ash’s legacy and inspiring aspiring gamers.

Arslan Ash’s triumph at EVO 2025 boosts Pakistan’s e-sports profile and highlights the skill and dedication of its players. His success may attract investment in gaming infrastructure and talent development.
