Army chief Raheel Sharif, Afghan ambassador discuss operation Zarb-e-Azb

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif met with the Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan Janan Mosazai and discussed the on-going operation in North Waziristan Agency along with other matters of mutual interest earlier today.

The meeting was held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. During the meeting General Raheel took up the matter of cross border terrorism at Pak-Afghan border.

He also asked Afghan defence authorities to destroy Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Nuristan provinces where fleeing Taliban militants from Pakistan and getting shelter and support and carry out attacks on Pakistan border areas.

 Afghan ambassador assured that Afghanistan would extend full cooperation to Pakistan in its ongoing operation against militants in NW region and that the message to destroy the hideouts would be conveyed to top Afghan defence authorities.
