Army Chief gen. Raheel pays rich tribute to resilience of the great people of KP, FATA

The Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif has paid rich tribute to the resilience of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.

They stood up to terrorist atrocities and pushed and marginalised the militants.

The Army Chief was chairing a meeting of Apex Committee at Corps Headquarters Peshawar here Tuesday.

In a twitter message, DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa said the COAS vowed to ensure timely and dignified Temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) return to resettle them in their homes. He also reiterated his commitment with tribal brethren to rebuild the area, revive entire socio-eco infrastructure.

The apex committee met here to review operations, IBOs with main focus on return, resettlement and rehabilitation of TDPs.

The Army Chief emphasized on all concerned to expedite the resettlement process and meet time lines by removing impediments which are causing delay in timely completion of the work.

Governor, Chief Minister KP, Peshawar Corps Commander, senior provincial and FATA Secretariat officials attended the meeting.

The Governor and Chief Minister appreciated the whole hearted support of Pakistan Army and reiterated the resolve of FATA and the provincial government to rid the province of terrorism and extremism and pave way for development and well being of the people.
