The Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit demanded sanctions on Israel. Leaders condemned Israel’s war in Gaza and its September 9 attack on Doha, Qatar. The summit’s final communiqué called for an arms embargo, economic reviews, and legal action to hold Israel accountable for violating international law.
The summit was held after Israel’s strike in Doha hit homes, schools, and diplomatic sites, killing civilians, including a Qatari citizen. Leaders called the attack “cowardly” and a “flagrant act of aggression.” They said it targeted Qatar’s role as a ceasefire mediator and threatened regional peace. The communiqué also labelled Israel’s actions in Gaza, like starvation and ethnic cleansing, as war crimes.

Leaders stood firmly with Qatar, saying an attack on one Arab or Islamic state is an attack on all. They pledged to support Qatar’s efforts to protect its people and sovereignty. The summit backed a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. It also supported Jordan’s role over the Al-Aqsa Mosque and endorsed UN and International Court of Justice actions against Israel.

The summit praised the UN’s New York Declaration for Palestinian statehood and an upcoming Two-State Solution Conference. It also thanked Algeria, Somalia, and Pakistan for defending Palestine at the UN Security Council.
