In a world where technological advancements keep surpassing previous benchmarks, the iPhone 15 Pro models, part of Apple’s upcoming phone line, are all set to make their mark with the thinnest bezels ever seen in smartphone history. This intriguing revelation surfaced contrary to numerous speculations around Apple’s newest gadget, the iPhone 15 series.
Revealing Image Leak Sparks Excitement
The tech community recently saw what could be Apple’s major leap forward, courtesy of an image leaked by famed tech whistleblower Ice Universe. The image, highlighted by Forbes, showcased screen glass and protectors for the entire iPhone 15 lineup, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
What truly set tongues wagged was the extraordinarily slim bezels on the Pro models, which had never been witnessed on any previous iPhone. This revelation aligns with Ice Universe’s earlier prediction in March, declaring the iPhone 15 Pro Max as the bearer of the “thinnest bezels in smartphone history.”
According to the tech leaker, the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro models will only be about 1.55 mm, thereby beating the previous 1.81mm record set by Xiaomi 13. This represents an impressive 20% and 30% decrease compared to the bezels on the Samsung Galaxy S23 and iPhone 14 Pro.
The iPhone 15 Pro Models – Raising the Bar
Notably, Ice Universe accurately predicted the iPhone 13’s smaller notch, thus making these new revelations worth paying attention to. If these rumours hold, the iPhone 15 Pro models may establish a new industry standard for the screen-to-body ratio.
In a reaffirmation of this information, display analyst Ross Young confirmed last year that the iPhone 15 models would incorporate the Dynamic Island design introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models.
The Much-Awaited Enhancements
While criticisms of the iPhone 15 lineup being “too mediocre” have made rounds, the iPhone 15 Pro series seems far from ordinary. Upgrades for these models include enhanced UWB compatibility with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro, a robust and potentially ultralight titanium chassis, and Apple’s next-generation 3nm A17 microprocessor. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to introduce Apple’s first-ever periscopic optical magnify lens.
The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are projected to leverage the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max’s assets, like their Dynamic Island design, A16 chipset, and a 48-megapixel primary camera. However, they will all feature USB-C compatibility. It is worth mentioning that while the Pro models may see a price hike, the standard models will not follow suit.
