Apple has sanctioned two potentially hazardous chemicals from its 22 assembly line of its iPad and iPhone factories. To ensure worker safety, company has banned n-Hexane and Benzene carcinogen which is believed to cause nerve damage. These chemicals were used by Apple as degreasers and cleaners in the assembly process.
Environment director of Apple, Lisa Jackson, insists that the investigation didn’t find any evidence of putting workers’ health at risk.
The 22 sites are located in China and employ nearly half a million people.
