Apple resumed its product announcements with the launch of the Apple MacBook M5 series, introducing upgraded MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models powered by the new M5 family of chips. The refresh focuses on stronger performance, higher base storage, and revised pricing as Apple targets renewed demand in the global PC market.
The lineup will be available from March 2026 and is aimed at both everyday users and high-end professionals.
Apple MacBook M5 Series Launch: What’s New?
The biggest highlight is the new M5 chip, now standard across the updated MacBook Air models. Apple also introduced M5 Pro and M5 Max processors for the MacBook Pro range, built on what the company calls a new “Fusion Architecture.”
According to Apple, this architecture combines two third-generation 3-nanometre dies into a single system-on-a-chip, delivering high-bandwidth, low-latency performance.

- Liquid Retina display with up to 500 nits brightness
- 512GB base storage
- 16GB memory standard (upgradeable to 32GB)
- Up to 18 hours battery life
- 12MP Center Stage webcam
- New N1 wireless chip for improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports
The 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,099, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,299. Both models are available in sky blue, midnight, starlight and silver.
